Awaji Island Onions are renowned for their sweetness and juicy.
Awaji Island(淡路島, Awaji-shima)is located in the Seto Inland Sea(Setonaikai), between the Japanese main islands and Shikoku.
Awaji Island is blessed with a warm climate, abundant sunlight and mineral-rich soil.
These exceptional conditions can grow sweet onions.
Awaji Island Onions harvested from February to April are called "gokuwase(極早生)" , early ripening cultivars.
It tastes good for salad due to less pungent.
Early ripening cultivars onions doesn't keep for a longer time and store them in the refrigerator.
