「Bao buns」の思ひで…

今日はbao bunsを作りました。

80ml lukewarm water
1/2tbsp Sugar
1tsp Instant yeast
150g Bread flour
1/4tsp Salt
1/2tsp Baking powder
1/2tbsp Vegetable oil

Mix together the flour, salt and baking powder in a large bowl.

Dissolve the instant yeast and sugar in warm water, then add it to the mixed flour bowl.
Add oil and then use your hands to combine the lumps to form a rough-looking dough ball.

Tip the dough out onto a clean work surface and knead the dough for about 10 minutes.
Place the dough in a bowl and let it rise for about 40 min. at 30℃.
(Put in bowl, cover with a damp cloth and leave it until doubled in size.)

Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll each one into a small ball.
Using a rolling pin, roll it out into an oval shape about 10cm length.
Brush the surface lightly with oil (not included in the recipe) and fold in half.

Place a bun on baking paper and transfer to a baking tray. 

Let it rise again for 20 min. at 40℃.

Heat a steamer and steam the buns for about 8 minutes.

You can use a pot and strainer instead of a steamer.

 

Put the Kakuni(Braised Pork), Miso Stir-fried beef and Roast beef between bao buns, soft steamed buns.
Gua bao, pork belly buns is famous food of Taiwan.

Make it with your favorite ingredients!
